Sewa Bharti was founded in the year 1989. Organization had resolved to work for welfare of the economically weaker sections of the society.

Sewa Bharti conducts many social service functions in different areas. Sewa Bharti has rehabilitation centres named 'Matruchhaya' or (Mother's care) for destitute children. The project plans to envisage the 'Matruchhaya' to be different from an orphanage and aims to provide all facilities for children abandoned by their parents. Even for destitute old people, Sewa Bharti works in many areas by discharging social responsibilities. 'Vridh Jan Suvidha Kendra' is one such place, where there is proper arrangement for the living of destitute elders with Indian culture.
'Matrichhaya' is a journey full of hopes and aspiration. 'Matrichhaya' Shishu Kalyan Kendra was started by Sewa Bharti on 27 July 1997 at Bhopal. Childrens from 0 to 6 years of age, who are abandoned from the family and society due to any reason, are nurtured in the 'Matrichhaya' with the spirit of motherhood. On 5 March 2015, Sewa Bharti 'Matruchhaya', Gwalior started with auspicious resolution. It is located in Ganga Vihar Mahalgaon, Gwalior.
In this project of Sewa Bharti, a total of 99 infants have come so far and a total of 24 childs have been legally adopted to the sacred family.
Presently a total of 4 infants are being nurtured by Indian culture in Matrachhaya, Gwalior.
Sewa Bharti has been working in the field of health and education for the last 25 years for the sacred purposes of sewa, Sanskar and Social harmony. In the same sequence, the project of 'Matruchhaya Shishu Kalyan Kendra' by Sewa Bharti Madhya Bharat it was started on 27 May 2015 in Hamlapur, Betul.

Bhajan Mandalis work to awaken social cohesion and divinity in the society. Pragati Bhajan Mandali started in 2014. Then two to three women started performing Bhajan Kirtan in the 'Sewa basti' of Mahavir Nagar, now a group of more than 20 women perform Bhajan Kirtan at different temples.
